  1. Man from Portland.

Man from Portland. Just call me Gipetto. Way ahead of my time, this is my next great interactive painting. This stunning video features a whimsical interactive painting created by Grant Keltner and Jonathan Swanson. Just imagine how many paintings you could apply this technology to. The painting is brought to life by using motion-activated RGB lights. The led lights are located in the eyes. They fade to a variety of random colors. The programming for the lights and electronics were made with the Arduino open-source software using an AVR atiny45 chip. The programming and circuit design were done by Jonathan Swanson. The first time we showed this piece in public we had a five-year-old kid freak out, throw a tantrum and hit the painting. He stomped his feet wanting to know how this mans eyes lit up and how the flower spun around in his lapel. I like the spinning flower in the lapel, it’s a new feature that we added to this painting. New and improved. I’d like to add a squirting flower that when you get close to the painting the flower would squirt people in the eye. His eyes and the lapel. This is a series of Arduino technology interactive paintings that we’ve created. Hope you like it. This piece is 3.5′ x 3.5′. This work is for sale. 2) Purple Stars.

This video shows a new, improved, updated interactive painting that I collaborated on with my great friend Jonathan Swanson. This is an interactive musical lightbox. The graphic design was done with Photoshop and etched into clear acrylic. We built the frame as more of a casing to surround the acrylic. We painted the inside of the music box with metallic silver paint in order for it to shine through the etching and magnify the lights. We embedded 300 LED lights inside of the music box, they’re located underneath the frame. Jonathan programmed the lights to display purple and white lights that rotate in a circular motion. We can work with any color or pattern. This works off of motion detection with a small sensor that’s located in the bottom right corner of the music box. We’re working with Arduino technology. Jonathan played, recorded and composed the music. We can play ten tunes and we even have buttons that allow us to adjust the volume and rotate through the playlist. This piece is 3.5′ x 3.5′. This work is for sale. If interested please e-mail me at: [email protected]

3. Silver Grill.

This work is made from a old refrigerator coil that was attached to the back of a old refrigerator. I painted the coil it silver and put it in a light box. This video features a interactive painting created by Grant Keltner and Jonathan Swanson. Just imagine how many paintings you could apply this technology too! The painting is brought to life by using motion-activated RGB lights. The LED lights are located in the frame work. They fade to a variety of random colors. The programming for the lights and electronics were made with the Arduino open-source software using an AVR atiny45 chip. The programming and circuit design were done by Jonathan Swanson. This a series of Arduino technology interactive paintings that we’ve created. Hope you like it. to view further paintings go to: http://www,grantkeltner.com
